Chief-Inspector, Dept. of Antiquities, Jerusalem. Subject:- Nablus On monday the last (30.4.34), information by telephone were received by me from District Officer, Nablus to the effect that [while] Raji Abd el-Majid Sihan of Nablus was preparing foundations for his house a tomb containing some antiquities was discovered. The place was visited by me on 3rd instant. It is situated on the lower slopes of Mt. Ebal and about 150 metres N. of the present District Offices. On the building site of the above person and during the building operation workmen came across an opening in the rock. This opening which faced south was a proper entrance into a rock-cut chamber. I crept in and found that it is nearly chocked up with earth which, as it seems, must had been falling into it from an opening in the roof. On the left when entering the chamber a stone sarcophagus with turned over lid shaped in donkey-back were lying nearly buried in the rubbish. [הטקסט נמשך ככל הנראה בעמוד נוסף שלא סופק]
